RSR COMPANY PROFILE

RSR, an independent British Company, was formed in 1982 and operated initially in the laboratory of one of the founders (Dr. Bernard Rees Smith) in the University of Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff. In 1985 the Company moved production to its own facilities at Pentwyn, Cardiff and in 1994 RSR’s research and development operation moved to purpose-built laboratories at Llanishen, Cardiff. RSR currently employs about 100 staff in the UK.

RSR is a major developer and producer of medical diagnostic kits with particular emphasis on autoimmune thyroid disease, type 1 diabetes mellitus, neuroimmunology and adrenal autoimmunity. A high proportion of the Company’s output is exported with the European Union, the USA and Japan being the main overseas markets.
